Vaalwater tennis players recently participated in a tennis tournament in Klerksdorp.

After the Limpopo tennis trials were hosted in Polokwane during April, Vaalwater players participated in an invitational interprovincial tournament that took place from 26-27 May at the North West courts in Klerksdorp.

North West and the Northern Cape joined Limpopo in the two day tournament starting off with doubles matches on the Friday and singles matches on the Saturday.

In 2016 only three players from Vaalwater were selected to play in the ‘interpro’ and this year nine players from Vaalwater made the team to represent Limpopo and Vaalwater at the tournament.

This year’s participants from Vaalwater were Hanco Benadé (boys u.14), Daniel van Coller (boys u.14), Zoe Joubert (girls u.14), Ruben le Roux (boys u.12), Marisha Benade (girls u.12), Iris Snyders (girls u.12), Leani du Toit (girls u.12), Melissa Meyer (girls u.10) and Kaylin Odendaal (girls u.10).

“I am extremely proud of all my players who have shown a tremendous amount of growth this year, and are undoubtedly making Vaalwater proud,” said coach Rosa Joubert.
