Waterberg Academy’s matric farewell was held on Thursday, 21 September. In the front are Prudence Masila, Guadelupe Marzal, Paige Ligeti, Jesse Dowinton, Jodene Moitsiwa and Tshepo Kganyago. At the back are Moses Molekoa, Tiishetjo Maila, Aden Walker.

The Grd 12’s of Waterberg Academy with their dates will not forget their farewell, on Thursday, 21 September.

They were flown in helicopters from the school to Mathopo Lodge, being escorted by three fixed wing aircrafts.

A number of fly pasts were executed, all to the music of Top Gun. Their parents had been invited to join in the arrival specta-cular and join the party for pre-drinks and snacks.

Everyone was “blown away,” especially those who stood too close to the helicopters on landing and take-off, said Mark Godfrey, principal of Waterberg Academy.

“Each matric shared anecdotes of his or her educators and the years at the school. Four of them had been here since pre-school,” Godfrey said.
